Cool! One of these days I am gonna count mine, but I am afraid to! HAHAHA! I was able to purchase some Franklin and Danbury cars/trucks a few years ago when I had a job and money...ah, the good ol days! There is a great old hobby shop in New Orleans call Hub Hobby - during Katrina they got 8 feet of water, so I destroyed the entire shop, and I think it had been in business since the late 50s!! Anyway, they moved a higher location in Metairie, about 8 miles away. So, couple of years ago I ventured into their new shop, and all along one wall where cars and trucks in display cases all for sale, about 200 -250! A old gentleman from New Orleans was being put into an assisted living home, and had no room for his collection. So, the hobby shop bought his entire collection and put them up for sale. Mostly old screw bottom AMT/SMT cars from the 50s and 60s, very well done for $10.00 ea! and the mint cars for $20.00. Anyway, I had a stroke, and tried to sneak as many home as I could afford. The mint cars I snagged were: 57 Chrysler Convertible, Edsel Station wagon, Mercury Turnpike Cruiser, Packard Coupe, 55 Pontiac, 55 Nomad, another Edsel, 56 TBird, 57 Chevy Convert, and a few others! Here are some pictures to whet your appetite - the diecast are mainly on the left, the other models that I bought are in the clear cases. I have sold most of them to a friend of mine in Oregon.... Some of the plastic and resin models: More of my diecast: More to come.... Dave B -
